2 Snaps and a Twirl

OMG! All of my feelings and all the twists and turns. I can’t even begin. Sunshine where do I start?! I read it on my latest trip and I kept putting it down and picking it up. At one point I just kept saying “no” “nope” “no way” “that didn’t’ just happen” I just could not believe what I was reading. I would get over one plot twist in the book and then another one came just as quickly and then another one. *in my DJ Khaled voice*

Take a journey with me to “the Mountain of Jaw Dropping Miracles” The book takes place in Nigeria during rough political times. It tells the story of a couple struggling to have a child and the challenges they face from not only each other, but their families, and their communities. I can’t say more than that because I don’t wanna ruin it for you. When I say you need to read this book. YOU NEED TO READ IT

Something that stuck with me was the following quote: “If the burden is too much and stays too long, even love bends, cracks, comes close to breaking and sometimes does break. But even when it’s in a thousand pieces around your feet, that doesn’t mean it’s no longer love.”

And that’s the thing about love, true love…regardless of the form or condition it is still love. I believe we have convinced ourselves that love is ONLY what we have read in fairy tales and watched on TV. I’m not saying it isn’t those things, but it’s also so much more.

You should read this book because it illustrates how far people are willing to go for the ones they love. As a result, you consider and evaluate your own limitations and their adequacy.
