I’m not entirely sure what to call ARTECHOUSE. It’s not a museum, not quite an exhibit, and it’s not quite an interactive show. It’s a little bit of all 3. Think art meets science meets extended reality. I recently, was in DC and had to check this place out for myself. Even though I went, walked around, and took pictures, I’m not entirely sure how to describe it to you. I’m going to give it a shot anyway…

Simply, ARTECHOUSE is a whole new way to experience art in an interactive, immersive way. Kicked off in 2015, this technology driven art destination is located in DC right by the nations capital. Across the street is a Starbucks and as you go get an after experience drink/snack you see the amazing DC skyline.
The Cherry Blossom theme this year was incorporated into a few of the interactive stations. It was all so cool!

ARTECHOUSE app is a must if you decide to visit. Even if you don’t decide to go, still get it. You won’t regret it . I want to say more, but it is hard to do so without giving certain things away. Just download the app, TRUST ME!

Extended Reality?! What is that? Well sunshine, I’m glad you asked. According to Wikipedia, “Extended reality is a term referring to all real-and-virtual combined environments and human-machine interactions generated by computer technology and wearables, where the ‘X’ represents a variable for any current or future spatial computing technologies” I would be lying if I even knew what that meant exactly. However, my understanding is that it is an overarching word used to include augmented reality, mixed reality, and virtual reality. Basically, what we see is partnered with some virtual addition or we are immersed completely in the latter.

Listen Sunshine…the world is opening back up slowly. You have an opportunity here to do some things. If you are anything like me the reality of the pandemic has been enoug and a little too real. I thing we could all do with some enhancements, virtual or not.
Let Your ARTECHOUSE Light Shine!
